Aftermarket parts

Postby Pacman » Thu Jun 11, 2009 3:39 pm

Is it just me or do others feel that most aftermarket parts are way over priced. I have seen were front bumpers are 4 to 5 hundred. Sound systems are another 4 speakers a small sub and a small amp 800 or more. What is every ones take on the prices of stuff for your ride?

Its pretty hard to swallow that a exhaust system is $800-900, a roll cage $1500, nerf bars $400. When ever I have questioned any of these manufactors they tell me it is the volume of sales, R & D, labor, materials and so forth. On one of the Teryx forums some guy got on there and questioned why they did'nt make a economy version of a certain exhaust and everybody basically crucified him for even asking, it was the old song and dance about quality and warranty, I personally would buy a non stainless exhaust, if it was cheaper. How many years were exhausts made of mild steel? I don't need some shiney stainless and polished aluminum exhaust that you can't see anyway. Oh well, gotta quit ranting.

I know what you mean, I'm running GBC dirt Tamers on my Rex and they are just as good as Bighorns, friends that have Bighorns wish they had bought the GBCs instead, just because it cost alot does'nt mean its better. As the old saying goes, " theres a sucker born every day ".
There are plenty of suppliers that rely on that.
